Scope and data sources

GeoScore audits public domain hostnames only. It does not audit localhost, private networks, IP ranges, IP address literals, custom ports, or specific URL paths.

Public fetches

Homepage HTML, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, llms.txt, redirects, headers, TLS, DNS, and public metadata are fetched from the open web.

External APIs

Scores can use PageSpeed, CrUX, OpenPageRank, Mozilla Observatory, search gateway enrichment, public DNS, certificate logs, and AI inference.

Not professional advice

Results are informational SEO/GEO signals. They are not legal, financial, compliance, penetration testing, or professional security audit conclusions.

What GeoScore Checks

39 individual checks across 15 modules — every one runs live against your real domain. No cached data, no estimates, no marketing fluff.

⚙️ Technical SEO

Response time, page weight, render-blocking scripts, DOM size, compression, AI bot policy in robots.txt, llms.txt presence, sitemap discovery.

📄 On-Page SEO

Heading structure (H1–H3), word count, internal vs external links, image alt coverage, modern formats (WebP, AVIF), FAQ section detection.

🗂️ Schema Markup

JSON-LD parsing, Organization, LocalBusiness, Product, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, WebSite, Review and Offer coverage scoring.

📝 Content Quality

Flesch reading ease, average grade level, contact-signal detection, content depth, and language declaration.

♿ Accessibility

WCAG 2.1 AA checks: alt text, form labels, ARIA landmarks, skip-nav, heading hierarchy, link text, language attribute.

🛡️ Security Audit

Live Mozilla Observatory scan: CSP, HSTS, X-Frame, CORS, COOP, SRI, and grade A+ to F with deduction explanations.

🤖 AI Visibility

Three real Llama 3.1 simulated queries predict whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini would cite your site as a source.

🏛️ Domain Authority

Wikipedia presence, Wikidata entity detection, sampled backlinks, domain age, and Open PageRank score for entity grounding.

📊 E-E-A-T Scorecard

Google quality evaluator signals: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness — derived from on-page and off-page signals.

🌐 DNS & Network

IPv4, IPv6, nameservers, MX records, TXT count, email security (SPF, DMARC, DKIM), CDN identification, server location.

🔗 Social & Meta

SERP snippet preview, Twitter and LinkedIn card rendering, Open Graph completeness, social profile detection, hreflang scan.

📈 Performance

Real Google CrUX field data: LCP, INP, CLS — Core Web Vitals from actual Chrome users, not synthetic Lighthouse runs.

Why AI visibility matters in 2026

Search is splitting in two. Half your prospective customers still type into Google and click a blue link. The other half ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, or Gemini and read a generated answer — and AI answers only mention you if your site sends the right signals.

Traditional SEO targets ranking. GEO — Generative Engine Optimization — targets being quoted. The two share some signals (schema, page authority, content quality), but GEO also depends on entity grounding (Wikipedia, Wikidata), structured Q&A, specific facts, and whether AI crawlers can actually access your content.

GeoScore is the first free tool that scores both side by side. Run an audit and you'll see exactly which signals are working, which are missing, and which fixes give the highest return for the effort.

What your audit report includes

  • SEO score 0–100 — weighted across Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, Schema Markup, Content Quality, Accessibility (9 WCAG 2.1 AA checks), Security, Social & Meta, and real Core Web Vitals from Chrome UX data.
  • GEO score 0–100 — AI citation probability combining domain authority signals (70 %) with a live Llama 3.1 AI citation simulation (30 %), giving a single number for how likely ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini would cite your page.
  • Ranked action plan — every finding sorted by impact score so you fix what moves the needle first, not what's easiest.
  • PDF export & embed badge — download a full report and embed a live score badge on your site.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about what GeoScore does, how it works, and what it costs.

Is GeoScore really free to use?
Yes, free with no hidden tiers. There's no signup, no API key, and no credit card. To keep the public service stable, fresh audits are fair-use limited to 8 per IP per hour. Cached results do not consume that quota.
How does GeoScore check if ChatGPT would cite my website?
We use Cloudflare Workers AI running Llama 3.1 to simulate three realistic AI search queries for your industry. The model evaluates whether your page contains the structured facts, authority signals, and content depth that AI engines look for when constructing cited answers. You get a citation probability score from 0 to 100 with per-query confidence levels and reasoning.
What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization — the practice of making your website more likely to be cited by AI assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini when they answer user questions. Unlike traditional SEO which targets ranking in Google's results, GEO targets being quoted as a source in AI-generated answers. Key GEO signals include schema markup, authority entities (Wikipedia, Wikidata), specific facts, and structured Q&A content.
What does the GeoScore audit actually check?
39 individual checks across 15 modules: Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, Schema Markup, Content Quality, Accessibility (WCAG), Security Headers (Mozilla Observatory), International SEO, Social & Meta Tags, AI Visibility (citation prediction), Off-Page SEO, Domain Authority, Site Intelligence, DNS & Network, SSL Certificate, and Redirect Chain. All checks run live against your real domain — no cached or stale data.
How long does a GeoScore audit take?
Most audits complete in 15 to 30 seconds. All 15 modules run in parallel via Cloudflare Workers and stream results over Server-Sent Events as each module finishes, so you start seeing data within the first second instead of waiting for the full report.
Does GeoScore store my data or track me?
We store only the public audit results for the domain you requested, keyed by domain name and cached for a short period. Rate-limit counters are keyed by IP for abuse control only. There's no user account requirement, no user-profile logging, and no data resale. The full source code is on GitHub under the MIT licence so you can verify this yourself.
Can GeoScore audit localhost, private networks, or IP addresses?
No. GeoScore only audits public domain hostnames. Localhost, internal hostnames, private networks, IP literals, custom ports, and URL paths are rejected.
Is GeoScore a legal, financial, or security audit?
No. GeoScore reports public webpage, DNS, public API, PageSpeed/OpenPageRank/search enrichment, and AI-inferred signals. It is not legal advice, financial advice, compliance review, penetration testing, or a professional security audit.
